Greenway Community Practice is located in Southmead, a northern suburb and council ward of Bristol. Filton (in South Gloucestershire) and the Bristol suburbs of Monks Park, Horfield, Henleaze and Westbury on Trym are on its boundaries.

The area is well served with a range of local parks and sporting facilities.  On the Southmead development trust site, where the practice is based, is a vibrant community gym and Café.  A David Lloyd private gym is located next to our Practice and Horfield Sports Centre is a mile away.

The Practice

You would be part of a strong and experienced clinical team comprising of 5 partners, 3 salaried GP’s, 2 clinical pharmacists, 4 Nurses and 3 HCA’s and a Paramedic

We are looking for a Locum GP to work with our happy, supportive and dynamic team at Greenway Community Practice.

The Role

5 sessions per week to cover a two-month engagement August - September 2022

Personal list system with low Patient: GP ratio

Record keeping using EMIS web system

Appointments are at 10-minute intervals and include a mixture of face to face, remote, and telephone appointments & admin generated from these contacts.

Usually, own list patients to include both reactive and proactive medical care.

Administration is expected to be completed within the session period.

Morning sessions will incorporate provision for a 20-minute paid break

An exciting opportunity has developed an additional Clinical Pharmacists to join the Affinity Primary Care Network (PCN).

The GP contract provides excellent opportunities for Clinical Pharmacists to develop advanced roles within GP practices. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team you will be able to utilise your clinical skills to provide expert medicines advice to patients within the network as well as the GP practice team.

Affinity PCN covers approximately 40,000 patients, and is increasing, in an area spanning the Bristol suburbs of Henleaze to Sea Mills. The 6 close-knit practices have operated together for some years and also form research collaboration. The practices cover a fascinating population with a wide variation in age from new-borns to 100 + years and the whole socioeconomic spectrum including pockets of deprivation and affluence.

We are looking for forward thinking, motivated, independent clinical pharmacist to join our existing team of four supportive and dynamic PCN pharmacists. The successful candidate will jointly offer a service to all or a combination of the PCN practices they support. You will be expected to visit practices to build and maintain a relationship with the prescribing lead and where available as part of the skills matrix, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy clerks.

Support, supervision, mentoring and encouragement will be readily available by the dedicated PCN Senior Clinical Pharmacist in collaboration with a vast range of experience from the wider pharmacist team. Under the direction of the Clinical Director the PCN provides dedicated clinical supervision and the support of a team of Practice Managers and extended colleagues, eager to support the introduction of new colleagues.

The roles will bring a competitive salary of between £37,500 - £41,000 per annum pro rata depending on experience. It also benefits from 5 weeks leave per annum and is eligible for the NHS Pension scheme. Further training opportunities are also available if required.
