Introducing Group Consultations

We are pleased to introduce Group Consultations as a new way of delivering care for certain long-term conditions. This approach brings patients together in a supportive, structured setting, while still ensuring everyone who attends receives personalised clinical attention.

Following the success of our group menopause sessions, which patients found highly informative and empowering, we are now expanding this model to other areas. The next condition we will be offering in this format is asthma, starting with annual asthma reviews.

What are Group Consultations?

A group consultation brings together a small number of patients with the same condition and a clinician. During the session:

  • Each patient receives individual clinical input
  • You benefit from a shared learning experience
  • The environment remains supportive, respectful, and confidential

This format allows you to learn not only from the clinician, but also from others who are managing similar health concerns.

Why are we offering group consultations?

Patients who attend group consultations often report that they:

  • Gain a better understanding of their condition and how to manage it
  • Feel more confident using their inhalers correctly
  • Learn practical tips from others living with asthma
  • Have more time to ask questions in a relaxed setting
  • Feel supported and less alone by connecting with others

Our experience with menopause group sessions has shown that patients value both the extended time and the shared discussion, leading to greater confidence in managing their health.

We believe group consultations offer a more in-depth and supportive experience, helping you better understand and manage your condition.

You will always have a choice in how you receive your care, but we strongly encourage you to try this approach and experience the benefits for yourself.

What will happen during the session?

Group consultations will vary in length, but will generally last between 60 and 90 minutes. During this time, you will receive:

  • Answers to your questions from our clinician
  • A review of your test results
  • A group discussion about treatment options
  • A medication review, including prescription updates or renewals

If anything needs to be discussed privately, or if further tests or referrals are required, these will be arranged separately to ensure your care remains tailored to your needs.

How will I be contacted?

Patients will receive a text message with information about upcoming group sessions, along with a self-booking link. This allows you to choose a convenient time to attend one of our group consultations.

We look forward to welcoming you to this new way of delivering care.
