A note from Dr Gillvray to all her Patients,
“It makes me very sad to say that I am leaving Greenway Community Practice at Easter time. My last surgery will be 29th March 2018.
I have been at the practice 4 years now and have developed great relationships with my patients and all the staff here.
It has been an emotional decision but my husband has accepted a job in Cambridge and the family are relocating. My hope is that I can spend more time with my young family so I am not rushing into another practice.
I am aware that Greenway will be a very hard act to follow. The Practice thoroughly deserves all its awards especially in the current NHS climate. I will be keeping in touch with the Practice and following its news closely.
I will miss everyone and I am sure you will make my replacement Dr Mark Statter very welcome. Some of you may recognise him as he has previously covered my maternity leave here at the practice. He is looking forward to joining the team and becoming your usual GP”
We are anticipating difficult weather over the next few days. Please note the practice will do its very best to remain as open as possible during this time
Drs Cross/ Halsey/ Collenette/ Cleverely/ Hay all live locally and so will be at the surgery. Dr Grimshaw is on leave tomorrow. Dr Gilvray has to commute from South Bristol so she will make the decision whether she can attend by 8am on Friday morning. Our treatment room may suffer a bit as one of our nurses has to travel quite some distance. Once again we will do our best to keep your appointment. In the event of problems with your appointment we will ring you. Please cancel the appointment if you plan not to attend and we will do our best to rebook you as soon as possible
However it would be very helpful if you could try and manage your illness with the support of your family and local pharmacy without contacting the surgery as we are anticipating a difficult day. NHS 111 and A&E will have similar difficulties to ours so please think about how you use these services too
Thank you for your support
Dr James Cross
All GP Practices are now required to declare the mean net earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each Practice. The average pay for GPs working in Greenway Community Practice in the year April 2016 to March 2017 was £66,407 before tax and national insurance. This is for 3 full time GPs and 4 part time GPs.
It should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors actually spend working in the Practice and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other Practice.
We are pleased to announce that at this years Christmas Jumper Day we raised over £80 for the Save the Children Charity! We all had so much fun raising money for this charity and hopefully helped raise awareness of this fantastic cause.
Check us out in our woolly knits!
