All GP Practices are now required to declare the mean net earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each Practice. The average pay for GPs working in Greenway Community Practice in the year April 2016 to March 2017 was £66,407 before tax and national insurance. This is for 3 full time GPs and 4 part time GPs.
It should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors actually spend working in the Practice and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other Practice.
We are pleased to announce that at this years Christmas Jumper Day we raised over £80 for the Save the Children Charity! We all had so much fun raising money for this charity and hopefully helped raise awareness of this fantastic cause.
Check us out in our woolly knits!
Along with all the festivities, we hold an annual end of year curry lunch. All staff from the Practice attends this prestigious event (mainly for the free curry!). During this hour of chomping on poppadoms and mango chutney, our senior partner (Dr.James Cross) says a few words along with a fancy slide show of this years antiques and accomplishments.
And then we have the awards. The be all and end all of this hour of gluttony.
We are pleased to announce that the team to win the ‘Betty Boop’ award for 2017 goes to: The Reception Team!
Never in the history of this sacred event has a team won the award 2 years in a row. Well Done to our fantastic reception team for doing such a fab job!
And last but not least; The winner of the Brick Award for 2017 goes to: Julie Prior – Practice Nurse!
She has been a true brick to our team here at Greenway. Small but mighty. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the patients.
Wishing Everyone a Happy New Year
The Brick Award – The brick award. Is a literal brick. Surprised?
When the foundation of the Greenway Community Practice building was being laid the intention was to award someone with the brick and literally place it as being part of the foundation of the building. However as time went on the partners decided to make it a symbol of there thanks for someone who has been dedicated to working for Greenway. And so the tradition started. The brick award has been given to someone every year from the day the Greenway building started to be constructed.
The Betty Boop Award – Is a Betty Boop, in a black dress, on a stand with a microphone in her hand.
One of our Ex Practice Managers (Rose) gave this award to the nursing team before she left. This was with the motive that the award would then continue to be handed out each year to a team that has preformed exceedingly well together.
Its that time of year again! We are all wishing for a white Christmas. In the mean time, here are our opening hours.
