Carers Week 2014

Carers Week 2014

Carers Week is a UK-wide annual awareness campaign. Its aim is to improve the lives of carers and the people they care for.

Did you know one in eight of us are currently caring for an ill, frail or disabled family member or friend.

The very nature of caring means very often people don’t identify themselves as carers. Rather they think they are simply attending to the responsibilities that many people feel are their own duties to fulfil.

This can result in carer’s becoming ‘burnt out’ as they put other peoples needs before their own. Normal day-to-day activities and taking care of their own physical and emotional health, work and finances can have a devastating impact due to not having the right help and support.

The awareness campaign takes place from Monday 9th June to Sunday 15th June. How can you get involved?
